Taking The Long Way

While I was making lunch today, Gabriel was running around in circles and chasing the dog like always just like every other day. When I put his lunch on the table he decided to climb on the chair to get to his lunch...the long way.

He started off by moving the chair away from the table to tip it like so...

He proceeded to climb higher, taking his truck with him...

Onto the table...

Climbing across the table...

Back down onto another chair where his lunch was. (we had bean and bacon soup. yum!)

He is so funny and had so much fun! I got to thinking to myself, why don't I ever do that? (take the long way) I am always in such a hurry and want to take the quickest way to my destination so I can just get the job done. But no matter how we get there, the reward (in this case, soup) is just the same. So why not have a little fun on the way?

Carrie,
This is SO cute. I agree... we should slow down and enjoy the journey to our destination. We tend to miss the good things along the way. Just yesterday I was thinking that exact same thing. On my way to your pad I decided to go the back way over Cooper Mt. (instead of going down Murray). It may have taken a bit longer but the drive was ten times better than lights and traffic.

I also wanted to say… I LOVE that you let him climb. Many parents get too worried about children hurting themselves and over protect them. Letting them learn on their own can be so much more rewarding. What a climber.

I think he's going to be a climber. That runs in the families.

I can't believe you fed him bean and bacon soup in a white shirt!

Don't worry...you'll be taking the LONG way when your try and get the stain out of that fabric! :)

What a cutie!
