I have gotten to where I don't really feel bad anymore about Gabriel saying "don't hit me, mommy". The very first time he said it was right after I spanked him, like I was saying in my last post. But now he says it all the time. If I raise my voice at him a little, or tell him to stop doing something, or go for a time out....it's always big crocodile tears and him saying don't hit me. He even said it to David last night when David wasn't even mad at Gabriel. He was just trying to get him to go to bed. So, my heart is no longer broken and I don't take it personally anymore. :) Besides, my nephew would say it in public and shield his face to my sister-in-law. At least he doesn't do that!
We're still fighting with the nap thing. And yes, he still needs a nap. If he doesn't take one, his attitude is ok, not great, but ok, and he'll end up crashing wherever he is around 5 o'clock, sleep til 8 and then be up all night. And there's no keeping him awake either. He's so beat tired that he'll sleep through ANYTHING! Believe me, we've tried this. So, he clearly still needs to take naps.
Anyway, I'm just venting at this point.

When Rubio was 3 years old I got this book, The Happiest Toddler on the Block, this book was a big help to me for all of my kids.
The toddler years are very hard. When Rubio turn 5, something changed and he became my big helper. Now he is 6 he is still a big helper but he also speaks his mind (he back talks a lot).
aww Carrie! Being a Mom is so fun sometimes. You hang in there. It does get easier.
Beautiful Family picture
