This week went great! Here is what I've been doing and I feel it works out great for me.
For my diet: First of all I've upped my water intake to about 96 oz. of water/day. That is so easy for me because I do love my water! The other thing I've done is increased my protein. When I wake up I have my bowl of cereal and get the kids ready for the day and when they are, we go for a walk. When Gabriel is with us, it's a very SLOW walk but when he's at school, I walk with Angelina and it's more of a brisk walk. When we get home I have a mid morning snack, lunch, and after the kids are asleep for their naps, that's when I've been doing my actual work out. After that I have a protein shake, afternoon snack, then dinner. I haven't had any temptations so far. No over eating, and I've stopped eating after 7pm at the latest (They say to not eat at least 3 hrs before you go to bed and I usually go to bed around 10pm), I've cut out juice almost completely, no soda (which isn't hard because I'm not a soda drinker to begin with), no chocolate, and very little carbs after lunch for the rest of the day. Basically, I've been counting points (and sometimes not the points, but my calorie intake) and using the Weight Watchers program as a guide for my nutrition. I started WW right before I found out I was pregnant with Lina and it worked for me. I really like that program.
On Friday night, David and I did go out to dinner...to an italian restaurant. I know, horrible! I didn't finish anything that was given to me (except for my water) and didn't even eat the left overs. So that's a good at least, right? :)
For my work out: I have decided that for the next 6 weeks, I'll be doing Debbie Sieber's "Slim in 6" program. All of my portions have been smaller and I'm not really feeling starved because of how much protein I'm getting (along with the water). As far as the work out aspect of all of this is going, I have to say that my hardest days were Tuesday and Wednesday. Monday of course was great. It's the first day of the week...the first day I start the program and I'm ready to rock! Tuesday, I'm still ready to go, but I'm sore! Wednesday, I'm sore and don't really want to do it...but I do! And I feel grateful that I made myself do it. Thursday, I feel really good all day, before the work out and after. Friday is the same and then for Saturday and Sunday, well, I took those days off. My plan is to keep my routine going from Monday through Saturday, but this time, it just didn't work out. I'm ready to step it up a notch for week 2 with my workout. I've been doing a 25-30 min walk in the morning and then a video that is about 25 min in the afternoon.
For week two, my goal is to get up earlier and do my work out in the morning for a longer period of time. And of course I'll keep walking because my kids love it.
In week 1 I lost ZERO lbs. I bet it was that pasta - DANGIT! However, I'm not going to let this get me down because I am healthier today, than I was one week ago.

Hooray!!! Keep it up!! You really are amazing. Dangle a spiderman out in front of Gabriel to get him moving faster. You know, like the horses and a carrot?...hmmm....
I lost 7 pounds this week...(albeit, it's from the flu...but..hey! There's got to be some positive side to this blasted swine stuff!!)
GO CARRIE!!! Keep it up!
Good for you Carrie!! You are inspiring me... I LOVE YA!!!
keep it up ... i've been working out (hard too ... 1 hour on the cross trainer and zumba plus weights and stuff) 4-5 days a week and guess how much weight i've lost? 3 lbs. That's right. but people tell me muscle weighs more the fat ... and someone told me i look thinner the other day ... so i must be doing something right. love you carrie. You'll be ONE HOT MAMA :)
Hey girl. Sounds like you've got it down already. In addition to the scale and measuring tape, I found that progress pics were a huge encouragement for me. (when I say progress pics, I mean spandex and me, in all my glory. Those pics didn't get posted on fb, that's for sure ;) If my scale doesn't move for 2 weeks straight, I switch something in the diet up right away because they say that diet is 80% of it anyways. Your posts will be great motivation for me too. Thanks for sharing.
