Lately, Gabriel has taken a HUGE step backward. He used to be fearless. In control. Wanting to do things for himself. I hear that this kind of behavior, taking a step back, is 'normal', so I'm kind of just letting it take it's course. Trying to give him encouragement as best as I can. He is now having trouble getting to the bathroom on time-if at all, not wanting to go into any room if it's dark-even though he can reach and knows how to turn on the light switch, and also being scared to go to bed-even with a night light. So with the bathroom we're going back to the "potty stickers/treats" and not getting upset with any accidents that may happen, and with the dark we're telling him that we're sure there's no skeletons around (for some reason, there are no monsters, just skeletons). As for going to bed, David came up with this one and it has been genius! (Thank you David!) . . .
He is surrounded by every single stuffed animal and blanket he has. They protect him. He's so cute! I just can't wait until this step back starts to move forward again.
