It's official. We are now chicken owners. I was totally opposed the first time David brought it up to me. And long after. But, being the good wife that I am, I told him I'd really consider it. I finally felt ok about it and told him that I have one stipulation. I will help feed, water, collect eggs, and help build the coop, but I will NOT clean up after them. He was ok with that and now we have 4. One for each member of the family. We've got 2 Golden Sex Links and 2 Rhode Island Reds. The kids have the Goldens and David and I have the Reds. We all hold them every day in hopes that they'll be used to us and the dog when they get bigger.
Gabriel picked out his chick. . .
He has completely fallen in love with his chick and has named her "Chick Hicks".
David's quite happy about his chick too, although, he has yet to name her.
All Angelina wants to do is go Godzilla on her chick, so we hold it for her for now. Her chicks name is "Chica".
(we put a green dot on the forehead of gabriel's so we'd know which is his)
I don't have a cool name for my chick yet either. It'll come to me.

so fun!!! my brother totally wants to do that too! i should tell him you guys did it. i think it's awesome! it will be even more awesome when you give you eggs! haha. i wish i was there to see them! good times!! :-) congrats on the new little dias chicks. :)

GLORIA!!!! NAME ONE GLORIA!!! I had chicken named Gloria and she was soooo SWEET!!! It's a good name!
