Ok, I've got a couple of pictures of my living room to show off. When we bought the house, this is what it looked like. Not too bad, right? The curtains had TONS of cat hair or dog hair all over them, so they definitely had to go! The carpet all through out the house was saturated in dog urine, so it ALL had to go. This is what we decided to do...

Pretty crazy huh? We are so in love with our wood floors and think that this room looks great! Once we get some furniture in here, it'll look even better. I'm thinkin' a nice area rug, a couple of nice chairs, a coffee table, and we're good to go. :) That'll all take a while. Gotta save, save, save a bunch of money that we don't have anymore. I know, I know. "Welcome to home ownership." So everyone says. :) That's ok. I'm so happy with what I've got.

You have a beautiful home. It is wonderful and amazing to see the picture of all your work.
I like the look of wood floors. In the last house where we were paying a mortgage to the bank had ugly carpet that covered hardwood floors. We put in a bit of work to clean up the mess the previous occupants did to the floors. One room had a 1/8" deep 12" wide sanding machine mark diagonally across the floor. Go figure.
That transformation is awesome. You should hit craigslist to find deals on furniture. They always have something interesting!

Carrie, your wood floors are beautiful. I grew up in a home with hardwood floors. We polished them up good once a year and it was fun to pull one another around on towels to complete the wax jobs.
