Being Grateful

In the spirit of Thanksgiving, I thought I would jot down a top 10 list of things I am grateful for. Some are great, and others are simple. These are in no particular order...except maybe the first two. :) (and it's not even a "top" 10, but just 10 things that come to mind at this moment).

1 - The Gospel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. I really can't complain about any of it. Some say it's hard to live, but for me, it's pretty easy. I don't always follow everything it teaches (even though I do try) but know that what it does teach, I believe to be true. I am grateful for the love of my Heavenly Father and to know that one day I will be with Him again. It brings peace to my heart when things get rough. I am grateful to know that my family is sealed for all eternity. So no matter how much we may not like each other at times, we're stuck with each other! What am I talking about? We're perfect and never fight! :)

2 - David. He is such a great person. A great husband, a great dad, and a great friend. His love and support keep me going day to day. Just when I think my world is crashing down on me and things can't get worse, he assures me that they can and that I'm ok. Just to take deep breaths and we work out whatever situation or dilemma or high stress moment I'm in. Thanks hun. Along with this goes Gabriel. He is such a joy in my life (even though there are numerous times that I think his name should be Damien). He definitely makes me smile by the end of the day and I couldn't imagine life without him.

3 - Owning a home. It kills me to write the check each month, but am grateful to be able to do so and to have our very own space.

4 - Lower gas prices. Can you tell? I keep bringing it up. :) It just makes me want to go on a road trip! But can't. (refer back to #3)

5 - My wonderful family. This goes for immediate, in-laws, and extended. It is so great to have such loving people and great examples in my everyday life.

6 - The changing colors of the leaves. Although it may be cold (which, I like that too) it makes me happy to see all the beautiful colors on the trees. And despite the mess that they make when they fall, it is sure worth it while it lasts.

7 - Good food. I am so excited for the wonderful feast that I'm going to have way too much of tomorrow.

8 - Football. This is the one sport that I can sit and watch a whole game of and not get bored. Some may disagree and think it's WAY boring. But I like the entertainment. Even when my team gets O.W.N.E.D by the nasty Raiders!

9 - Naps. I love they days that I am able to take a break from everything and let myself drift off. It's not often. So when it does happen, I soak it in. As much as I can get. The best times are when Gabriel will let me snuggle him (because he's SO not a snuggler) and when I can get cozied up by the fire. Mmmmmm. Comfy!

10 - My health. I really have to be grateful for this. Especially when I'm pregnant. There's nothing worse than being sick. Ok, there is. Being sick, and not being able to take anything to relieve the sickness. (when you're pregnant, you're limited on the meds you can take. I'm sure most of you know this.) I have been sick once. The flu. But I have had a great pregnancy (both times) and for that, I am grateful. I'm sure David is too. :)

Obviously the list could go on for miles. But these are just a few of the things that popped in my head. I love this season and love to share it with the people that I love.
