A Pirates Life For Us

This is by far the best Halloween in a long time! The past two years were ok...but the first year, Gabriel was 2 months old. The second year, he was old enough, but sick. This year, he can walk, talk, and understand what's going on. He's been having issues wearing clothes lately, so it was a struggle getting him to put his costume on, but we bribed him with candy, forced his arms and legs in the outfit and after a while, it was all good. When I drew on his face, he loved it. He let me do it with V.E.R.Y little fight. I didn't show him in the mirror, for the fear that he would want to rub it off. So he never did see it. Can I just say that I have the cutest kid on the planet!

David and I had pirate costumes from the first year that we were married that we decided one more year won't hurt. Besides, all we would have to do is get one for Gabriel and we would all be set. So, $10 later, we're a pirate family.

And let me tell you, we were a big hit with the other families on the street. I think Gabriel even got more candy because of it. (which isn't a bad thing ;)) We really scored on the neighborhood we moved into. Lots of kids and lots of great decorated houses.

Gabriel had a great time. He was getting tired of walking so we actually cut the night short. We maybe hit 1/3 of the houses in our neighborhood. It was fine though. We got to come back, relax, and hand out candy. He thought that was fun too.
