(This is a long one with lots of pictures)
Christmas morning. David and I woke up about 7:20. We thought it was so strange that Gabriel was still sleeping since he's been such an early bird lately. But seeing as how the night before was Christmas Eve, we were partying with family, so it probably wore him out! So we got the living room in order and exchanged stockings. Gabriel ended up waking up about 8 o'clock or shortly after (probably because we opened his door and weren't so quiet when doing things around the house). We were so excited though. We couldn't wait for him to wake up and if we were to go and actually wake him up ourselves, he would have been in a foul mood. :)
This is what we saw when we peaked in his room...
Our first Christmas in our first house!
When Gabriel finally woke up we all gathered on the couch and had him go through his stocking first to see what kind of goodies Santa had brought to him. Yes, there were some 'CARS' in there. Santa's pretty smart!
He then found his little chair and very carefully sat in it while he opened up his presents one by one. I can't believe how neat he was about opening them up. He would rip off a piece of wrapping paper and before moving on to the next piece or opening the entire thing, he would look up at David or me and hand us the paper. It was too funny!
(I love his face in this picture. Must have been a hard one to open.)
But the reward was a sweet one...
When we were done with our presents, we all got showered and cleaned up for David's parents and brother to come over to start over again.
The story behind this dino is so funny!
Gabriel didn't want to finish opening it. We had to do it for him. When it was completely open, he screamed and cried and would hid behind anyone that would let him. We pet the dinosaur and told Gabriel that is was a nice one, but he would not have it! We had to put it in the other room with the door shut. Grandma felt so bad, I bet she could have cried too. She thought she was getting him something great! But he was so afraid.
The next day he was ok with the door being open.
Day 3 - he was ok with being in the same room as it.
Day 4 - he was ok with touching it and putting it's "food" in its mouth.
Day 5 - he didn't really have a choice because some other kids came over and turned it on, so he was ok with it being on.
Day 6 - he finally climbed on it.
He hasn't stopped playing with it since. So really, she did get him something great! He loves it.
Back to Christmas! After we were done with David's parents, we headed over to his Aunts and Uncles house where the entire family was gathering. We had dinner and again, exchanged gifts, and ended the night playing cards. (The game is called Burraco, and David and I won! Just had to add that in there)
I expected it to be a little more hectic. But all in all, it was nice and pretty relaxing.

It sounds like a wonderful christmas. It would have been nice to be there for christmas. We are saving up and planning to be in Oregon in June. Daniel has the time off for work, (June 17-24). We just need to have the funds to get the tickets.
Love the dino...teaches him a good lesson about getting over all his fears!
I love your house! It is so cute and has so much character. I can't wait to see the rest of it!
