I am so glad this election is over. I have never been one to get 'gung ho' about political stuff. To me, that's exactly what it is. STUFF. I have never been excited about any candidate, really, because to me, they're all the same in the sense that they just say what you want to hear, then come to find out, they lie or 'flip flop' on the issue. I feel like I can't trust any of them. It's always 'the lesser of two evils'.
As most of you know, my husband is extremely into Politics and Religion. He gets THRILLED whenever he gets the opportunity to 'argue' politics, or share/discuss religion. He's fascinated with it. Even if he agrees 100% of what you say, he'll play Devil's advocate, just so he can argue. I kind of feel bad for him because it seems there's not a lot of people (that I know of) he can argue with that either:
a) want to
b) like to
or
c) won't take it personal.
I definitely don't fit any of those categories. At least when it comes to Politics. Sure I look into each candidate and try to vote for the best one I see fit to 'run' my country. (yes, MY country :) j/k) But when it comes to arguing points, count me out! I H.A.T.E confrontation. HATE IT! And that's how I see it. Don't get me wrong, when it comes to Religion, I love sharing and/or answering questions to the best of my knowledge. Anything else, I just try to be the best me I know how and hopefully I don't offend, hurt, or cross anyone the wrong way. Because if I do, and they confront me about it, I'm as good as a rock being thrown into a window. NO GOOD!
Last night while David was at scouts, I was catching up on some work and e-mails and flipping through the channels on T.V. I came across the Disney Channel which had "A Goofy Movie" on. I like that movie and decide to watch it. David comes home. He sees what I'm watching and says, "you hate me".
I say: Why? Do you not like this movie? I like it!
He says: Babe! There are post-election (something or another) on T.V. right now!
I say: Are you kidding!? (laughingly) No! I want to watch this.
So he climbs in bed and we finish the movie...just like that. I look over at him with a smile on my face and say, "Now this is nice! Just kickin back, watching a movie, with no argument." No political mamba jamba! And I even got hold the controller.
I'm so glad it's over. Until 2012 anyway.

Aw... good for you (and David). I hear ya, as much as I can get passionate about P&R too. It's just nice to forget about the world for a moment and snuggle with your favorite person. ;) Hugs and Kisses!!!
I am also glad it is over and I am so happy that Obama won.
I love this post! We must be cousins because this is exactly how I feel! It sounds awful and call me a terrible no good person but I DON'T CARE!!! I'm so sick of it and I'm glad its over.
Can you change your font color to white or something? I think the grey is hard to read!
DD does get passionate...but he wouldn't be DD if he wasn't!
In high school, Dave used to play devil’s advocate with me all the time. I wouldn't have minded except he never told you he was "playing" so I'd throw everything I had at him and to my dismay, he would maintain the same position. Fortunately for our friendship I did not take it personally. Moreover, the resultant steel-on-steel debates we had only served to sharpen each other to the point where we were morally obligated to register our wit with our local police department for having concealed weapons. ;)
Now, when it comes to politics I know where you’re coming from. My ignorance on the matter leads me down a path of hopelessness and I begin to question my ballot’s value. However, if I do not exercise my conscious within my circle of influence I am limiting God’s benevolence within my own life. So I made the effort, and as a couple Jenna and I grew because of it. Now, when it comes to the issues themselves I feel far more confident on where I stand and this election has served to teach me how important that is. It will be interesting to see how things unfold over the next four years and you can be sure that I will be talking to David from to time to time to get his perspective on things.
Double D couldn't argue his way out of a wet paper sack
